After its US premiere, Jujeño presents his film El Ciar del Río

After presenting his documentary “El Ciar del Río” at the Lane Doc Fest in the US, Jujeño filmmaker Renan Aparicio will premiere his film at the Las Alturas International Film Festival, on Tuesday, April 9 in Room 1. Anwar Shopping Mall, at 8 :30 am. It will be re-screened on Thursday, the 11th of this month, at 5:30 pm at Alpha 2 Cinema.

The film's director spoke to our media about the film Which is specifically about a kayaker who goes on an expedition down a wild river following the explorer's old navigation charts. The River will take you on an introspective journey through the Bermejo Basin, where you must confront your past and present, and discover what you want for your future. This documentary began taking shape in 2016 and was only completed at the end of last year.

“It tells the story of the Bermejo River, how that river has its history of conquest by indigenous people and how I go with my friend to explore the river, tell part of its history, and discover that geography and ecosystem of the place,” said the director from Gogoi.

He also pointed out that it is a film that has been circulated at festivals, as it was shown internationally for the first time at a festival in Tennessee last October, and it was also shown at another festival in the American city of Los Angeles.

A team of about 10 people made the audiovisual project “El Ciar del Río” possible.

“El Ciar del Río” came out in 2016. I was living in Europe at the time, and I kayaked with a friend from Belgium who was also in the movie and it occurred to us that we would tour the entire river. Bermejo, from its source in Bolivia to its mouth in the Paraguay River, passing through the provinces of our country. In addition, we had the idea of ​​making a documentary, and it was difficult. It took time and the film was completed at the beginning of 2023.”He expressed.

Renan Aparicio He stressed that finishing this product gave him a lot of peace because it not only required a lot of time, but also required searching for resources. In addition, he highlighted that this project was implemented with great support from INCA, IAAD and private cooperation.
