A Baldur's Gate 3 player found a way to obtain legendary armor in Chapter 1 by following specific steps.

One of the most memorable characters in Baldur's Gate 3 is the mysterious Raphael.

Raphael appears throughout the game, and without getting into any spoilers, he can provide players with one of the best armors in the game at the end of Chapter 3: the Infernal Dusk Armor.

However, a Baldur's Gate 3 player discovered a way to obtain the Legendary Armor early in Chapter 1. This provides players with an extremely powerful item that is a huge benefit for difficult Honor Mode games.

Baldur's Gate 3 player shares how to get Raphael's Infernal Dusk Armor earlier in the game

Reddit user Hope_bringer found the strategy during an Honor Mode match and He shared his discovery on the BaldursGate3 subreddit.

As he explains, eliminating Raphael while he's in your camp will allow you to loot him for the coveted Infernal Dusk Armor, as well as other loot.

The post explains that you have to do this at your camp. This requires you to make specific decisions based on how far in advance you want to achieve it.

Getting Raphael into your camp in Chapter 2 is very easy, as you simply need Astarion to make a deal with him at the Last Light Inn. After completing the mission, Raphael will appear at the camp.

It's also possible to have him visit your camp in Chapter 1, though it's less simple. Although there are many places where you can meet Raphael, he will only go to the camp as a last resort if you don't talk to him first.

The author states that she attacked him before having a conversation with him, which prompted him to leave the camp and appear there later.

Although the latter method may require some effort, Infernal Dusk Armor is worth it, especially in the early game. Legendary Armor is one of the best options in the entire game, with an armor class of 21, resistance to fire, the ability to burn those you succeed saving throws against, and access to the Flying spell.

But what makes Infernal Dusk Armor really good is that it grants the wearer proficiency in Heavy Armor, allowing any character to wear it without the usual consequences.

Considering that Patch 5 removed the experience that players could gain by eliminating Raphael, it will likely be an unintended exploit that will be fixed in the future. For now, though, it's a great way to get a big lead early for those struggling with the game.
