Gustavo Costas faces the challenge in the national team

Argentine Gustavo Costas will present a new Bolivian coach today to face the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

According to information from the press department of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), the official presentation will take place at 11:30.

Fernando Costa, president of the federation, revealed yesterday that Costas and his coaching staff will receive about $87,500 per month.

“In fact, the general budget for the entire coaching staff of Professor Gustavo Costas and this new operation would not exceed $1,050,000 or $1,100,000 per year. This includes the entire coaching staff, assistants, etc. So, we are very close, or Better, than we were in the era of Cesar Farias,” he said on the Santa Cruz Show Fame, Power and Victory.

The Fifa also announced that Spaniard Zapier Azcargorta, who led the national team to qualify for the 94th World Cup for the United States, will be the sporting director and that Pablo Escobar will remain in charge of the smaller teams.

On the other hand, the technical staff of Costas will consist as follows: Omar Bousso will act as his technical assistant.

His two sons will also have roles: Federico will work as a physical trainer, and Gonzalo will work as a video analyst.

Costa confirmed his confidence in the Argentine professional, who will have his first experience in managing the national team.

Costas is expected to sign with Bolivia and then return to Palestino de Chile to fulfill his contract.

According to preliminary planning, the coach’s work with La Verde will begin in November.

The FBF has yet to announce that friendlies will be held during the FIFA date in September.
