Gil stated that Canada seeks to attack Venezuela and for this reason he asked, “Get your noses out of our country!”

On February 13, the Canadian Embassy in Venezuela expressed concern after the arrest of human rights defender Rocio San Miguel, joining other international voices.
He added on the social networking site “X”: “Canada adds its voice to those expressing concern about the detention of Rocío San Miguel and other human rights defenders in Venezuela.“.
