Christian Mbele defeated Rohan Murdock in Canada

Frenchman Christian Mbele remained unbeaten and maintained his World Boxing Council (WBC) Americas continental title, defeating the brave Australian Rohan Murdock by technical knockout at the end of the sixth round, in the semi-main event of the card. Beterbiev vs. Smith, which took place on Saturday night at the Videotron Center in Canada.

Mbele dominated the fight. He was superior to Murdock at all times, but the Australian showed tremendous courage, did not stop throwing punches and withstood the attacks in every round. In the fifth match, Mbele hit Murdock, and was about to knock him out, but he withstood all the beating.

“Murdock is strong. He withstood all my good shots. But for me, I thought I would finish it in one more round. But his team finished the fight. He’s a good boxer, but I’m the better one today.”

With this victory, Mbele raised his score to 26-0, including 22 by knockout. He has been confirmed as a potential world title contender in the super middleweight division, which is dominated by Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. For his part, Murdock fell to 27-3, including 19 by knockout.
