Wärtsilä Signed a five-year customized Enhanced Maintenance Agreement with Canadian ferry operator Societé des Traversiers du Quebec (STQ).
Covers the agreement FA Gauthier, a 133-meter ferry powered by Wärtsilä 34DF dual fuel engines and other Wärtsilä equipment.
Among the services provided by the Wärtsilä agreement are the company’s unique Expert Insight tool and dynamic data-driven maintenance planning, made possible by the Wärtsilä Data Collection Unit (WDCU).
Expert Insight uses AI and advanced diagnostics to take predictive maintenance to a level never before possible. It is estimated that unplanned downtime can be reduced by 30-50%. Communication between Wärtsilä experts and the crew on board can be done via the Expert Insight collaboration app. WDCU collects operational data and sends it to the cloud for remote monitoring. This facilitates advanced analytics, thus providing an accurate view of the vessel’s performance.
In addition to the Wärtsilä engines, support is also provided for the Wärtsilä LNGPac fuel storage, supply and control system, gas valve unit, electrical and ship automation systems. Scheduled maintenance parts, field service, store services, and logistics will be included for the covered equipment.
FA Gauthier is part of the STQ fleet of ferries that operate in and around the Canadian province of Quebec as part of the Provincial Transit System.
