MEXICO CITY (Nearby) – The Minister of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard, has reported that US corporate investment in Mexico is up to $40 billion.
And he indicated in his Twitter account that President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is the one who stated that this investment starts from this day until 2024.
The President led a working breakfast with members of the US-Mexico CEO Dialogue, which was private.
Earlier, Ebrard clarified that some members of President Joe Biden’s government, who are already on a trip to Israel, were on behalf of the US government.
He said the meeting aims to “follow up on the conversations that have taken place on economic integration, strategic sectors, value and supply chains, and proposals for very diverse investments in Mexico.”
Regarding the investment commitments Mexico signed Tuesday at the White House, the secretary of state said, “We are very pleased that it tells you of a very close relationship between Mexico and the United States.”
“It would be very useful for us now, between now and the end of the year, for the president to be concerned about the issue of inflation as well as to ensure that food is supplied to Mexico,” he added.
Among the Mexican businessmen who attended the breakfast was Carlos Slim. Francisco Cervantes, President of the Business Coordination Council. and Antonio Del Valle, President of the Mexican Business Council.
