Parnell highlighted the importance of the Dominican Republic and the United States setting examples of countries where democracy delivers results for society.
These statements were made at a cocktail party to celebrate the two hundred and forty-seventh anniversary of the independence of the United States, which was attended by various personalities from the political, business and social spheres of the country.
During the anniversary celebration, the Director noted that in a few months the United States would officially transfer relief to the Dominican Republic to Hosting the 10th Summit of the Americas in 2025.
The event began with the presentation of flags by the Embassy’s Marine Corps, followed by remarks on the national anthems of both countries, which were sung by the Mixed Choir of the Dominican American Cultural Institute (ICDA).
