Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.65%, or 11.40, to $1,769.80 an ounce. Regarding other commodities, crude oil futures for November delivery rose 2.58%, or $1.96, to settle at $77.84 a barrel, while Brent crude futures for December delivery rose 2.83%, or $2.24, to $81.52 a barrel.
GBP/USD rose 0.52% to 1.3615, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8537.
The dollar index fell 0.29% to 93.778.
