Lopez went to his account Instagram To share a special reflection in the movie, which helped her cement her career and lead her to Hollywood stardom.
“I can’t believe it’s been 24 years since Selena was released. I’m so proud of this movie !!”, Lopez wrote along with a video clip with a scene from the movie in which she played the legendary singer and late Selena Quintanella. “I am very proud to be a small part of Selena’s amazing legacy,” she added.
Lopez also remembered how he got ready to play the beloved singer. “She studied her relentlessly, every step, her finger movements, her lips … her infectious laugh … her expressions,” he noted. “Once it was time for her to participate in the movie and we were filming the big Houston Astrodome scene, I took the first picture and then came Edward James Olmos, who played Selena’s father, a wonderful and strong actor. He told me. Me: ‘You’ve done your homework, now let him go. … let everything go … ”Lopez continued.

Selena, known as “The Queen of Texas”, passed away on March 31, 1995. She rose to fame in the 1990s as one of the first leading stars of the male-dominated music genre. She became famous along with her brother, AB Quintanilla, who helped produce most of her music, for her hit songs like “Como La Flor”, “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” and “No Me Queda Más” as well as her posthumous hit songs.
