They put a date on Netflix ‘low cost’

The streaming platform has announced that it is working on implementing its cheapest subscription.

The reason for progress will only be to beat Disney+. Is that the house of Mickey Mouse is planning to release its own variant of the service with ads – Disney + Basic – on December 8.

However, it is also important to be careful. While Netflix’s cheap, ad-supported plan could debut in less than two months, it won’t be worldwide. This means that, initially, it will only reach a few countries. The full list is not yet known, although the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France have been mentioned as part of the first to receive it.

At the moment, Netflix has neither confirmed nor denied the possible launch of its ad subscription on November 1. The date in question was originally mentioned in a Wall Street Journal report on the business strategy the company would take to add advertisers.

The mentioned media indicated that the company, according to one of its sources, intends for brands to commit to advertising for a whole year, and to complete the order by the end of September by paying in advance. It was known that Netflix was going to put a cap of $20 million annually for each company willing to advertise on its cheap plan.

What is known about the plan

The rumors surrounding the cheap Netflix plan have been circulating for several months now. But the company made it official after a sharp drop in the number of its customers.

In principle, what is known is that it will not give access to the entire catalog available on the platform.

It was later found out that subscribers to the cheap Netflix plan can’t download series and movies to watch offline. The first rumor is that the plan in the US will cost between $7 and $9 per month.

The company’s idea is to display no more than 4 minutes of ads per hour of play, and break them up into 15 and 30-second segments. They would appear before and during serials and films, although not in all of them. This is due to the fact that Netflix originals will not display any kind of advertising content, although it makes sense that it remains to be seen if that will ultimately be the case.
