Julio Borges highlighted the importance of the conference for the benefit of Venezuelan immigrants that will be organized by the Canadian government on June 17th.

“It is a great opportunity to highlight the drama of the more than 6 million refugees who fled because of the grave crisis caused by the Maduro dictatorship,” said the Presidential Commissioner for External Relations of Venezuela, appointed by Juan Guaidó.

The conference will be an opportunity to highlight the significant efforts made thus far by the host countries and the international community and to mobilize much-needed additional resources.

This conference should also serve to clarify the cause of emigration, which is Maduro. Venezuelan immigration will not stop as long as he remains in power. “ warned Borges.

He added, “The pressure of the world is essential so that we can achieve a transition that will allow the return of Venezuelans.”

The event is organized in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), who are leaders participating in the Regional Forum for the Coordination of Institutions for Refugees and Migrants in Venezuela (R4V).
