The Federal Fish and Wildlife Service The North American population decided “this species is extinct,” which is why the process began to exclude it from the endangered species list. The report adds that this news “confirms how human activity can lead to the degradation and extinction of species, contributing to habitat loss, overexploitation, introduction of invasive species and diseases.”, reads the statement.

The increasing impacts of climate change are expected to exacerbate these threats.“With climate change and the loss of natural habitats, more and more species are on the verge of extinction, so it’s time to be more proactive and innovative in efforts to save animals in the United States,” the document adds.

The ivory woodpecker, belonging to the family Picidae, had black and white plumage, with a red crest on the males, and was about 50 cm long. It was classified as an endangered species in 1967, mainly due to the disappearance of the forests that made up its habitat and due to the excessive hunting of collectors.

Animals that live on the islands are more easily threatened by their isolation. More than 650 species of plants and animals in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands are threatened, more than any other country in the country.

There is not much anywhere else in the world.

Agency scholars note, however, that Conservation efforts are effective, and they note that since 1975 nearly fifty animals have left the list of protected speciesAmong them is the bald eagle or the brown pelican.
