The story of the rescue of some children in a cave in Thailand reaches the podium

In June 2018, a group of Thai children made headlines around the world when a walk inside a cave led to an international rescue. Four years later, the story was shown on digital platforms in the series Rescue in a cave in Thailand‘, which has already become available since last Thursday Netflix.

Through six episodes, the series depicts all the drama she went through during the 15-day rescue, showing the hurdles each party had to jump over, from the Thai government to the foreign divers who joined in, to bring them abroad for both. Although his absence was immediately reported and rescue operations were to begin soon, the rapid rise in the water levels in the caves complicated matters and required the intervention of rescue teams from Australia, the United States, Japan and China, as well as the Royal Thai Navy and an underwater demolition assault unit.

It was only on 2 July that Richard Stanton and John Volanthen of the British Cavern Rescue Council found the missing 4km from the entrance, sheltered on a high rock but in an inaccessible area. While figuring out the best way to get the 12 boys and their trainer out, on July 6, Saman Konan, a 38-year-old former Thai Marine, died while carrying supplies because his oxygen tank ran out and left him unconscious on his return trip.
