According to preliminary data, the estimator of business numbers (ECN), prepared by the Central Bank of Paraguay, recorded a variance between years of 34.9%, with the cumulative difference in the fourth month of the year amounting to 11.5%.
For its part, the three-month moving average noted an annual variance of 16.4%.
The index result is explained by the good performance observed in manufacturing, trade and services, linked to the low base of comparison recorded in April of last year as a result of severe health restrictions implemented by the COVID-19 epidemic.
In the manufacturing sector, sales of industries producing chemicals, meat, beverages, tobacco, mineral products, non-metallic minerals, common metals, textiles, paper and oils were recorded.

However, the dairy and sugar industries have shown the opposite performance.
On the other hand, in trade, positive differences stand out in sales of agricultural inputs, fuels, vehicles, household equipment products, and pharmaceutical chemical products.
Finally, in the services sector, sales of home services, transportation, business services, communications, hotels and restaurants, and real estate services provided favorable dynamics.
