Five contemporary witches sunbathing on the roof adorn the official image of the fantastic “El Grito” International Film Festival, which from November 22 to 25 2022, for the fourth year in a row, from the city of San Cristobal, will bring together the best of Venezuelan and world genre cinema, in A face-to-face competitive, educational, tourism-cultural event that will serve as a meeting point between creators and spectators.
This new edition produced by Casa Audiovisual El Grito presents as creator a selection of feature films that join the traditional short film competition, showcasing a schedule full of screenings, talks and special activities, where fairy tales, horror, suspense, science fiction, magical realism and excitementin fiction, animation, documentaries, and music video formats.
The stage will be the big screen of the Cines Unidos San Cristóbal series. Filmmakers from 13 countries are part of the official selection of short films and features, participating alongside films made in Venezuela and also those made by citizens abroad.
Hasler Salgar and Daniel Peñaloza, Venezuelan audiovisual producers and directors, preside over the Organizing Committee of the Festival which, in this fourth installment, is sponsored by the Sambil San Cristóbal Shopping Center, the Tachirense Tourism Corporation COTATUR, the Independent Institute for Integrated Development IAMDESIN in the Office of the Mayor of San Cristobal and the La Mega 102.1 station FM (Tachira).

The jury will consist of six personalities from the seventh art who will present their experiences and points of view on this work. Participating in the field of feature films: Hernán Moyano, Argentine director and producer. Lina Doran, Cultural Director and Artistic Director from Peru, and Cristian Jaramillo, Cultural Director and Film Curator from Colombia.
For the Short Films section they will evaluate: Angelica Castelo van Etten, Specializing in Costume Design for Film and Theatre. Gerard Uzcategui, photography producer and director, and Carlos Molina, creative audiovisual and music producer.
