The call for proposals for the 7th Extremadura Science Week is open

The Ministry of Economy, Science and the Digital Agenda promotes, through Fundecyt-PCTEx and in collaboration with the Service for the Dissemination of Scientific Culture of the University of Extremadura (UEx), the celebration of the 7th Week of Science and Technology in Extremadura with the aim of promoting scientific culture, as well as scientific and technological advocacy.

Specifically, the call for proposals is open through June 30, and the Scholarly Publishing Program will run from November 2-17 across the region.

On this occasion, this year’s Seventh Science and Technology Week in Extremadura focuses on the World Science Day for Peace and Development, proclaimed by (the United Nations) and (UNESCO) since 2002, which is celebrated on November 10. Every year, with the aim of recognizing the importance of science and technology in promoting peace and sustainable development around the world.

In turn, the Seventh Week of Science and Technology in Extremadura aims to promote scientific and technological careers in non-university youth, encourage creativity and innovation in young people, as well as facilitate dialogue between science and society, among other things.

In addition, the invitation is extended to teachers of primary, secondary, baccalaureate and vocational training, university professors, researchers from public and private research centers, as well as associations and institutions that intend to cooperate in promoting scientific culture.

Proposed activities may target students from a particular learning center or be open to other audiences through pre-registration, the council said in a press release.

At the same time, it may be kept in any place or physical space proposed by the applicant within the Autonomous Community of Extremadura (educational centres, libraries, public rooms, gardens, etc.).

It should be remembered that this initiative is funded by the General Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation, the University of Junta de Extremadura and the FEDER Extremadura 2021-2027 funds 80 percent, and is managed by the FUNDECYT Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Extremadura within the framework of the “RIS3 Governance Extremadura 2027 and EDP” of TE.
