The arrival of the first national citizen science meeting, a community that is growing by the day

There is little left for the first national citizen science meeting, organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation’s National Program for Citizen Science (PNCC). On August 28 and 29 at the Cultural Center of Sciences (located at Godoy Cruz 2270, Capa), the event will take place that seeks to connect the actors of citizen science initiatives in Argentina and deepen the function of mapping and monitoring experiences through the responsibility of BNCC. During the event, workshops, training seminars, and panel discussions will be held with leaders on each topic, in addition to discussions with the audience. Under the slogan “Scientific Citizenship to Promote Democracy”, the main work issues will focus on creating a set of good practices in the practice of citizen science, current and future obstacles and challenges. For its part, the training will address the tools when carrying out an initiative or project within the framework of the citizen participation approach (communication strategies, organizing participatory workshops, opening and visualizing geo-referenced data, communication strategies with social and governmental actors, and citizen science comic practices).

To participate face-to-face in the panel discussions, workshops and training sessions of the event, it is necessary to complete the registration form. Quotas are limited.

It should be noted that some activities will be broadcast live via Ministry channel on YouTube Such as the welcome, opening and panel discussions “First-Person Projects: Short Stories and Project Experiences of Ciencia Ciudadana” (Monday 28 August, 9:30 am to 11:15 am Buenos Aires time), and the closing one with awards for citizen science projects (Tuesday 29 August, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Buenos Aires time).
