Striker Juan Anangono out due to injury at Communecación de Guatemala | Ecuadoreans abroad | Sports

Ecuadorean striker Juan Anangono will be the big absentee from Communications when he faces Solola on Sunday on the 19th date of the Clausura Football Championship in Guatemala 2022, due to an injury that will take him away from all activities for several days.

The match is of great interest to the Comunicaciones, led by Uruguayan William Coito Olivera, because a win would put them as the leader of the competition tied on points with Municipal.

Coito Oliveira will not be able to count on Anangono after the Ecuadoreans were injured on April 17 in Communicacion’s victory over Santa Lucia Cotzumalguapa.

The forward was a transcendent figure for the Guatemalan team during the last edition of the CONCACAF League, which brings together the best clubs in Central America, the Caribbean and Canada, which ended up in the hands of the Comunicaciones last December.

Similarly, Anangono also contributed five goals to Communications to remain in second place in the 2021 Apertura Championship, in which he lost the final against Malacateco.

Sunday’s rival, Solola, is ranked 11th out of the 12 that make up the highest domestic football league and is very close to losing the rankings, as has already happened with Nueva Concepcion recently.

The current leader of the tournament, the municipality, will have no activity over the weekend since they advanced their match against the Cuban Imperial two weeks ago, which tied 1-1 as a visitor.

For this reason, with 36 points, the team led by Paraguay Jose Saturnino Cardoso risks being tied at the top this week by the Comunicaciones, who has 33 points. (Dr)
