Puerto Belgrano – Personnel of the Naval Rescue Fleet Swimmers Department conducted the final rehabilitation exercise, which allows to re-check their knowledge and conditions annually to maintain their qualifications for work at sea.
It was held in front of the helipad at the Naval Base Puerto Belgrano, with the support of a Sea King helicopter from the 2nd Naval Helicopter Squadron of the Airborne, based at the Naval Air Base Commandante Espura.
Health workers from Puerto Belgrano Naval Hospital and the Fire Department were also present at the base.
The exercise involved planting and lifting the swimmers into the sea using the helicopter, and simulating the response to a call for help at sea, as the aircraft took off from the ship’s flight deck and transported the swimmers to the emergency scene. , where they jump to save the victim; Later the people in the water are lifted to the helicopter and returned to the ship or land.
The Rescue Swimmer Training Course and Rehabilitation Course are dictated by the Center for Naval Instruction and Training in Techniques and Tactics (CITT) and are intended for all disciplines in the Cabo Segundo and Primero hierarchy.
