During his speech, Al-Pars highlighted the importance of foreign work with regard to science and technology to face current and future challenges, such as epidemics, food insecurity or climate change.

These conferences, in which representatives of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OIE), the General Secretariat of Ibero-Americans (SEGIB), the Elcano Royal Institute and the Cervantes Institute, among others, also participated in the Director of the Spanish Institute. Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), Anton Lees, who presented the 2022 Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy Report; So is the Secretary General for Research, Raquel Utti, who introduced the Science Act and the Talent Attraction and Retention Scheme.

For his part, the President of the Raicex Foundation, Francisco Villaplana, was responsible for presenting the “ATRAE” report that presents a series of proposals to promote the attraction of talent and return to Spain.

During the days that the meeting lasted, several panel discussions were held: “Attracting and Retaining Talent”, “Spanish in Science”, “Science Diplomacy and Innovation” and “Women and Science”.

The aim of these meetings, which have been held since 2015, is to promote scientific diplomacy and tools for projecting science and technology abroad, as well as to strengthen channels of communication between the various fields present at the conference, which constitutes an excellent opportunity to share the various initiatives to spread R + D + I and to promote the excellence of Spanish science Abroad.
