Over 1.7 million tourists use Uber to get around Puerto Rico

Since the mobile app for shared transportation Uber It began operations in Puerto Rico nearly seven years ago, and 1.7 million tourists have used the platform as a means of transportation on the island.

This was revealed on Friday by Carolina Couto, Uber’s director of communications for Central America and the Caribbean, which determined that, taken as a whole, visitors traveled 44.5 million miles.

Uber data revealed that tourists from the United States, Mexico, Canada, Colombia and the Dominican Republic use the app the most when visiting Puerto Rico.

The most popular destinations for visitors are Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport, Wal-Mart, Plaza Las Americas, Condado Beach, and the Caribe Hilton Hotel.. And in 97% of cases, drivers rated tourists five stars, which reflects the good behavior of travelers.

Uber has been available in Puerto Rico since July 2016 and has a presence in the metropolitan area, Mayagüez and Ponce.
