San Sebastian rider Lucas Ejebar wants to declare himself Snowboard Cross world champion again and can start making it happen from today until Sunday in the Canadian town of Mont Saint Anne, where the final World Cup event is being held.
Ejebar lost the lead in the last test that took place last week in the Swiss town of Vaisonnaz, where German Martin Neuerl won, ahead of Alvaro Romero, also from San Sebastian, who finished second. The third was the Italian Lorenzo Sommareva and the fourth was the Canadian Elliot Grondin. Ecebar could not go beyond the round of 16. He collided with one of his competitors during the course and finished third in his heat after the Italian Matteo Menconi and the American Jake Vader, where he was eliminated and left the way for his competitors to win the title.
Ecebar has drawn his own conclusions and hopes he will not make the same mistakes again. Neurel leads the general classification of the World Cup with 374 points, followed by Italian Omar Vicentine with 335 points, while Lucas Ejebar is third with 326 points.
