Mexico City (Abro). – After the Mexican team’s defeat against Canada, the second in a row from the six-sided final towards the World Cup Qatar 2022, MLS LA Galaxy published an unexpected message demanding the recall of its players Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, Evren Alvarez and Julian Araujo.
The US team responded on social media after the national team stumbled on its visit to Edmonton, Canada, on Tuesday 16: “He may have called Julian, Evra and Chicharito.”
Mexico relegated to the third stage of the World Cup qualifiers corresponding to the CONCACAF region. Canada led with 16 points and the United States (15), who missed out on Jamaica, is the runner-up.
With six games remaining in the hexa-shaped final, Mexico shares third place with Panama, both with 14 points. However, the team led by Gerardo Martino needs to accumulate points to avoid the playoff zone.
The CONCACAF region is handing out three direct tickets to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar and one to the qualifiers.
After losing to the United States last week, the Mexican national team stumbled yesterday in icy Edmonton with two goals to one.
In the case of the LA Galaxy players, Javier “Chicharito” was not considered by coach Gerardo Martino, due to disciplinary issues.
The LA Galaxy striker has not played for the national team since September 2019. For his part, Alvarez has been wanted four times, and Araujo is waiting for the call.
