president Joe Biden has appointed a high level delegation To accompany him in a meeting this afternoon with his counterpart Gustavo Petro.

The president has 10 members of his cabinet at his side; Three of them have the rank of minister: Minister of Foreign AffairsHomeland Security Secretary Anthony Blinken, Alejandro Mayorcas; and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
In addition, the Presidential Homeland Security Advisor, Elizabeth Sherwood Randall, will be there. Samantha Power, USAID Administrator; Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry; Special Adviser for the Americas, Chris Dodd; the responsible ambassador, Francisco Palmieri; Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols; and National Security Adviser Juan Gonzalez.

For his part, President Petro will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Alvaro Leyva; Defense Secretary Ivan Velazquez; Minister of Justice, Nestor Osuna; Chief of Staff Laura Sarabia; Among other things.
The working visit between the two leaders will begin at 1:30 p.m. CST and last about an hour.
Usually, these types of encounters are divided into two parts. Firstly, A private session between the two presidents in the Oval Office, where only a small group of both delegations enter. And then a bilateral meeting in which the two teams participate.
