In Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos there will be 1,545 working appointments

The capital of Oaxaca is the venue for the fourth edition of the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos, which began with 1,545 trade dates.

With the help of 28 state ministers of tourism, mayors of 132 charming towns and two state governors, Miguel Toroco, Head of Tourism Secretariat (section), Tianguis opened.

32 international buyers from the United States, Canada, Peru and Poland are participating in Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos; 88 national buyers; 1,856 exhibitors and 1,545 commercial appointments confirmed.

According to the latest economic census of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), which was conducted in 2018, the magical cities are located in 134 municipalities and 74 metropolitan areas, with 33 thousand 456 localities and a population of eight million and 530 thousand people. , which will be 6.8% of the national total.

Similarly, these tourist places are concentrated in 4,675 housing facilities, with 110,697 rooms, which is 13% of the country’s offer.

From 2003 to 2018, the tourism-related business in these cities grew at an average annual rate of 5.5%, going from 29,260 units to 61,532 units.

Income from the supply of goods and services grew 14% on average annually, rising from 25,566 million pesos in 2003 to 157,888 million pesos in 2018.

In addition, it was announced that the average income per economic unit in 2018 amounted to two million 566 thousand pesos, which means an average annual growth rate of 8% in five years. The increase in hotel occupancy ranged between 6 and 8 percent.

From the foregoing, it can be concluded that the brand “Pueblos Mágicos”, for any destination worth designating, means an annual increase of 8% of the total value added of the census.

In his post, Alejandro Murat, governor of the entity that is the main producer of mezcal, said that the road to Puerto Escondido could be finished by November.

For his part, Juan Carlos Rivera, Secretary of Tutismo de Oaxaca, said that the event is considered a major focus for the development of tourism in the entity, and is now attended by 2,200 exhibitors.
