Immigration: 83% increase in the number of foreigners entering Mexico

The Ministry of the Interior, through the Unit for Immigration Policy, Registration and Identity of Persons (UPMRIP), has published a document entitled “The Impact of Immigration Facilitation Measures for the Entry of Foreigners Requiring a Visa to Mexico”, which regulates measures to facilitate air travel. Immigration flows of people who wish to enter the country on a regular basis.

These procedures allow entry to Mexico for foreign nationals who need a visa without being its holder; Only one of the following documents is needed: Electronic Permit System for Tourists, Businessmen and Immigrants from Brazil, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey; Permanent Resident Card for aliens residing in the United States, Canada, Japan and others.

The publication graphically explains the number of air entry events for people into Mexico, according to the authorization document in the first half of 2022.

Increases the influx of foreigners

It is noteworthy that in the first six months of the year, the total number of entries by air from the foreign residents who requested a visa was 84.9 percent, who used some facilitation measures, which is equivalent to 4.6 percent of the total entries by air.

In the same way, Total flow recorded an 83 percent recoverycompared to the same period in 2021, while the increase amounted to 118.5 percent for the 2020 period.
