IndyCar fans will once again be able to enter the official start of the summer by watching The Greatest Spectacle in Racing and we have all the details on how to watch the Indy 500 105 on TV or online.
The Indianapolis 500 takes its name from the 500-mile track on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana that will cover 33 Indy Cars over a 200-mile 2.5-mile course. The Indy 500 is one of the world’s most famous motorsport and is part of the triple crown of motorsports along with the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Unlike last year, where the iconic race was held in late August and no fans attended, this year’s Indy 500 will be held as usual on Memorial Day weekend in the United States. And 135,000 fans will be able to see it in person.
Takuma Sato, the 43-year-old IndyCar veteran from Tokyo, Japan, won last year’s race by beating favorite Scott Dickson on the lead. However, this year Dickson will be in first place and will start alongside Colton Hertha and Renus Fikkai in row 1. While Dickson has four Indy 500 Poles under his belt, he has not won the race since 2008. However, he is the best. Favorite to win this year on 7/2.
