HolCien, Student Effort for the Benefit of Science • Holguin Workers

On its third anniversary came HolCien Student Scientific Journalobtained at the University of Medical Sciences in Holguín, and this satisfies both the academy and the health sector in the eastern region.

The electronic publication, published every four months and already compiling nine issues and three volumes, is a quick way for students to publicize their scholarly activity, an issue highlighted by its director, fourth-year medical student Frank Miguel Hernandez Velasquez.

He stresses that the journal, refereed and freely accessible, is the main way to show the results of scientific activity from the undergraduate level, which was not possible before the existence of the publication from Holguín and access to other platforms can become cumbersome.

Hernandez Velázquez also points out that the publication, edited at the Regional Information Center, attached to the Casa de Altos studio, contains a total of 62 articles, the vast majority of which are original, which is an unavoidable indicator of quality, as well as rigorous accuracy. The activities have also been carried out for three years envisioning the investigative work of future health professionals in the branch of medical sciences in different healthcare centers and will be extended to the spaces of the Regional Book Fair, which is now taking place in Holguín.
