The conference was held at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the venue for Saturday’s game against the Islanders, which begins at 7:30 p.m., from Guatemala, and where the road to the CONCACAF Optional Tournament is.

Coach Amarini Villatoro and Moises Hernandez were responsible for sharing the international media that they are closely following the preliminary round of the 2021 Gold Cup. Guatemala is reportedly ready to start this new international adventure.

“We came from a difficult time with the World Cup elimination, but we have to move forward and fight to qualify for the Gold Cup. We want to give this happiness to the Guatemalan fans,” said Moises Hernandez.

The national defender confirmed that he is feeling a good physical moment, because in recent days he has completed a demanding training in the United States, which included a friendly match against El Salvador that ended 0-0.

Regarding the attendance of the fans in the matches, the player indicated that these are very special matters in football today. “People in the United States always give us their support and that makes us want to do things better,” he stressed.

Regarding the lack of a two-color goal that appeared against El Salvador, he confirmed that they are sure that the goals will start arriving and that the important thing is that they kept a zero in goal. “It’s only a matter of time,” he said.

Speaking of Guyana, Hernandez noted that in modern football you should not trust your opponents. “We have to focus and enjoy the game, because playing with the Guatemalan national team doesn’t happen every day,” he concluded.
