Djokovic leads Serbia to the Davis Cup semi-finals

Novak Djokovic won his singles and doubles matches to lead Serbia to the Davis Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Kazakhstan.

World number one Djokovic kept Serbia alive in the quarter-finals by defeating Alexander Bublik in straight sets and then faced Nikola Cacic in the doubles to defeat Andrej 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, Golubev and Aleksandar Nedovsov.

Djokovic had to win the singles match after Mikhail Kukushkin’s victory over Miomir Kikmanovich in the first meeting.

Kukushkin, 182 in the world rankings, needed more than three hours in his 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(11) win over Kikmanovic, 69th in the ranks. He saved four points for the match, including two in the tiebreak.
