Choice Hotels will acquire Radisson in the US, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean for $643 million

Choice Hotels International will acquire the franchises, operations and intellectual property of Radisson hotels in the United States, Canada, and Latin America and the Caribbean (American Radisson Hotel Group), for approximately $675 million (€643 million), including property value of three owned assets.

The company said in a statement that the acquisition will be financed with available cash and financing. The American Radisson Hotel Group also includes ten Radisson Blu hotels, 130 Radisson hotels, 9 Radisson hotels, a Park Plaza hotel, four Radisson RED hotels, 453 Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, 17 Park Inn hotels Radisson, as well as the Radisson Inn. Brands, Suites, and Radisson Collection.

Choice Hotels will independently own and control the brands in the Americas and work with the Radisson Hotel Group to drive growth and sustainability of the brands.

The company said the addition of the nine hotel brands in these regions represented another step in Choice’s strategy to expand its growth opportunities. The 624 hotels, with more than 68,000 rooms, have added Choice Hotels’ presence in the luxury and above-average hospitality segments, particularly in the West Coast and Midwest of the United States.
