Washington, August 17, AZERTAC
The Canadian government announced on Sunday that it will require all passengers entering the country on commercial flights, trains and ships to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
According to AZERTAC, Transport Canada said the new requirements will take effect this fall, no later than the end of October. In addition, all federal officials, including those working in federally regulated sectors of air, rail, or shipping, must be vaccinated.
“The Canadian government is leading by example by requiring public employees to be vaccinated, and we are asking all federal employers to develop vaccination plans to ensure the safety of their employees and workplaces,” Transportation Minister Omar Al Jabra said.
As of August 15, Canada has used more than 51.25 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. According to “COVID-19 Tracker Canada,” 71.72% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine and 62.69% are fully vaccinated.
