Canada topped the medals table in badminton for the Pan-American ‘Sport’ Granma

Canada topped the medal table at the recently completed American Badminton Championship XXIV, hosted by Guatemala, according to Prensa Latina.

The Canadians dominated the table with three titles, three silver and two bronze, followed by the United States (2-1-1) and the host country (0-1-5).

Ho-Shue, together with Nyl Yakura, took the silver in the men’s doubles. Talía Ng and BR Sankeerth, were bronze, in Unmarried Females and males.

For their part, the United States won the gold medal through Ryan and Philip Chen in the men’s doubles and Zhang Fei Unmarried feminine. Guatemala won the silver medal by Christopher Martinez and Mariana Baez. Mexico managed to enter the medals with two bronze medals for the men’s and mixed doubles.

More than a hundred athletes from Mexico, Guyana, Barbados, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Canada, the United States and the host country participated in the competition, and had an additional incentive of 5,500 points to qualify for Tokyo.
