Mexico 1986, Canada’s only World Cup experience
Canada played its only World Cup in Mexico 1986 and it happened after receiving the remaining share of CONCACAF, because the Mexicans confirmed this by being the host. The funny thing is that the Canadians had several casualties because many of their players competed in the North American League.
The playoffs began in April 1985 and the problem for the select team was that the North American League ended in October 1984, so they would arrive without rhythm of play.
