Air Canada announces flights to Bangkok and expands operations for the 2022/2023 winter season

Canadian Air For the winter season it expands its operations in the Asia Pacific region with a new service to Bangkok (BKK) and the restoration of several seasonal services. The airline will be the only North American operator to offer non-stop flights to the Thai capital, as well as restore service to Mumbai (BOM) via London Heathrow (LHR), both destinations subject to government approvals.

“We are thrilled to launch our first non-stop service to Southeast Asia this winter, the only service between North America and Thailand. Thailand is a popular entertainment destination for Canadians and this new service will provide opportunities for Air Canada,” said Mark Gallardo, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada. Flights from Bangkok (BKK) will operate from Vancouver (YVR), the airline’s main trans-Pacific hub, and direct services from Mumbai (BOM) will be from Toronto (YYZ) with a stopover in London Heathrow (LHR). These destinations will be operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and include Premium Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Cabin.

The Canadian airline will restore operations between Vancouver (YVR) and Delhi (DEL) by the end of the summer season, from the South Pacific it will boost operations to Australia and New Zealand, and in South America it will resume services to Peru from Toronto (YYZ) and Montreal (YUL).

  • AC Flight 65 YVR 23:00 – BKK 05:55 + 2 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • AC Flight 66 BKK 08:30 – YVR 06:35 Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Toronto (YYZ) – Mumbai (BOM) via London Heathrow (LHR)

Available from October 29, 2022 to March 24, 2023.

  • AC Flight 856 YYZ 20:30 – LHR 08:30 + 1 Daily excursions.
  • AC Flight 856 LHR 11:10 + 1 – BOM 01:40 + 1 Daily excursions.
  • AC 855 . flight Boom 04:50 – LHR 09:20 Daily excursions.
  • AC 855 . flight LHR 12:00 – BOM 14:55 Daily excursions.

We are also pleased to return to Mumbai, India’s largest city and a major financial, commercial and entertainment hub, to complete our 13 weekly flights from Canada to Delhi. Our Mumbai services are scheduled to operate with a layover at London Heathrow providing connectivity to more than a dozen Air Canada and Star Alliance member flights between North America and London, as well as additional options for travel between the UK and India,” Gallardo said.

India
  • Toronto (YYZ) – Mumbai (BOM) Daily flights a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner via London Heathrow (LHR).
  • Toronto (YYZ) – Delhi (DEL) Daily flights on a Boeing 777-200LR.
  • Montreal – Delhi (DEL) Three weekly flights on a Boeing 777-200LR.
  • Vancouver (YVR) – Delhi (DEL) Three weekly Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flights with a technical layover in Dublin (DUB) from October 2, 2022.
South Pacific

All operate from Vancouver (YVR)

  • Auckland (AKL) three times a week from November 10, 2022, between December and March, increasing to five weekly flights aboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • Increased number of Brisbane (BNE) flights to five flights a week from December.
  • Sydney (SYD) increased to 10 flights a week between December and January.

Peru
  • Toronto (YYZ) – Lima (Lim) 2 weekly flights starting November 4th.
  • Montreal (YUL) – Lima (Lim) 2 weekly flights starting October 30th.
