With the entry of cold front #35 over the north of the country, along with the polar jet stream and polar trough (cold air infiltration from the Arctic), temperatures in Baja California rose from -10 to -5 degrees Celsius in the mountainous regions of the state.
This led to snow falling into the city of La Rumorosa for the next few hours, causing the Centinela – La Rumorosa highway on the section downhill towards Mexicali to remain closed for several hours, and likewise the body uphill towards Tijuana to remain closed as a precaution due to the amount of snow.
