Local media reported that Daria Platonova, the daughter of the Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin, died when the car she was driving exploded near the town of Bolshei Vyazimy in the Moscow region.
Witnesses to the explosion, which occurred around 9:45 p.m. local time, said that a severe fire shook the car in the middle of the road, scattering debris all over the area.
The RT news network reported that the car then hit a fence before it completely caught fire, according to videos and photos taken at the scene.
Daria Platonova was engaged in journalism, philosophy and political science, and in July 2022 she was included in the lists of UK sanctions against Russian figures in retaliation for the invasion of Ukraine.
In principle, neither the police reports nor the source of the explosion that killed the woman was known.
Dugin, the victim’s father, is a philosopher who has embraced the tradition of Russian nationalism to support Vladimir Putin’s presidency. He developed an international relations theory that warns of the growth potential of Eurasia in a multipolar world.
Dugin visited Argentina several times, presenting his ideas at conferences and interviews, in which he questioned liberalism as a political philosophy, which he described as the expression of a new type of totalitarianism.
