Sunwing Airlines will connect Canada with Cuba and the Dominican Republic in the winter

After the wave of COVID-19 infections that hit Canada during the first months of the year, some airlines have seen their routes severely affected by health restrictions. This was the case with Sunwing Airlines, Which suspended all flights to sunny destinations until June 23. However, today with the clearer picture, the airline decided to fly for the winter season to the Caribbean to countries such as Cuba and the Dominican Republic.

The airline, which begins in December, will serve Caribbean destinations from Halifax, St. John’s, Moncton, Fredericton, St. John’s, Gander and Deer Lake. Also, some of the cooler cities like Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and London (Ontario) will also be able to escape cold temperatures to sunny destinations.

A few days ago, Sunwing Airlines announced it was returning to Thunder Bay Airport in Ontario for the winter season. This marks the 16th year in a row that the airline has linked the airport to tropical destinations. For this purpose, the company offers holiday packages with direct flights to Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The airline’s planned itineraries are planned from December 2021 to mid-April 2022. Given that, Head of Sunwing Tours, Andrew Dawson Commented:

Supporting regional airports and providing Canadians with more convenient means of reaching the tropics has always been important at Sunwing. Our seasonal service from Thunder Bay has been very popular over the years. We are excited to help our residents enjoy a vacation experience under our wings. “

After more than a year of health restrictions and quarantines, Sunwing will not only return to Thunder Bay, but also London, Ontario airport; From where it plans to run itineraries to destinations like Cancun, Punta Cana and Varadero.
