Only 42 percent back impeaching Trump. This is a dip in support compared to October when 45 percent backed impeaching the president.
Trump recently called into Fox and Friends on Friday to defend himself against the impeachment hearing.
“You’ve seen the polls over the last week. I’m going through the roof. In Wisconsin I’m way up over every Democrat,” he said at the time.
He is talking about the Marquette University Law School released Wednesday that shows the president with a lead over Biden of 47 to 44 percent in a general election match up. In the same poll done a month ago, Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders had single digit leads over the President.

Trump has been facing impeachment calls in response to his July 25th phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The President wanted Zelenksy to announce the investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son over their business in Ukraine. Vice President Joe Biden has been a leader in the Democratic primary and Democrats have alleged that the President is attacking him simply as a political rival. Trump has maintained that his request for investigation is to stamp out corruption in the U.S. and their dealings with foreign countries.
The central allegation is that Trump held up millions in U.S. military aid to Ukraine to get the investigation into the Biden’s started.
