Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) told FOX News on Sunday that the new Horowitz IG report on FISA abuse will be an indictment of Congressman Adam Schiff.
While speaking about the impending release of the report, Ratcliffe stated that he thinks Schiff has been preparing his defense when the report names him and his party, “I think it’s going to be an indictment of Adam Schiff, who has written his own FISA rebuttal memo in 2018 saying how dare Republicans criticize people like Peter Strozk, Lisa Page and Andy McCabe, and Bruce Ohr, who have done nothing wrong.”
Congressman Ratcliffe said the release of the Horowitz FISA Abuse report is the real motivating factor behind the current impeachment attempts. He implied that, if released, the report could not only remove Joe Biden as a viable candidate but could force the party to distance themselves from the Obama Administration as a whole.
“The Democrats are racing to get through this impeachment as quickly as possible. They know that the inspector general’s report is likely to be damning about the origins of the 2016 investigation into the Trump campaign, the role that the Obama-Biden administration officials played in that.”
The Horowitz report focuses on a period in 2016 when the Obama administration began using the FISA court in mass to collect information on the Trump campaign, allegedly in the pursuit of now-disproven Russian collusion. The FISA court, also called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, is a secret government court where the government and government agencies can apply for warrants without having to make the information public.
“We know this – the report is supposedly 500 pages. It doesn’t take an inspector general 500 pages to say that everything was done correctly and properly,” Ratcliffe said during his interview, “The IG report is going to find that there were problems.”
Congressman John Ratcliffe, along with Jim Jordan and Elise Stefanik, has served as one of the primary antagonists to Adam Schiff during the partisan impeachment probe.
