Former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch has now been caught lying under oath to Congress twice since she was called to testify against President Trump.

During Friday’s hearing, former Ambassador Yovanovitch lied about the Obama administration having never mentioned Hunter Biden or Burisma to her.

During her opening statement, Yovanovitch told Congress:

“And although I met former Vice President Biden several times over the course of many years in Government service, neither he nor the previous administration ever raised the issue of either Burisma or Hunter Biden with me.”

However, just hours later, Yovanovitch was asked by Rep. Elise Stefanik if the Obama State Department ever coached her on how to handle questions about Hunter Biden and Burisma before her Senate confirmation.

When Stefanik asked Marie Yovanovitch to confirm if that story was true, she responded:

“Yes, it is.”

Clearly, the admission is a complete contradiction of her earlier testimony when she made her opening statement.

However, this is not even the first time that former Ambassador Yovanovitch has been caught lying under oath while testifying against President Trump.

Less than 2 weeks ago, during a closed-door congressional hearing, she lied again about her contact with a Democrat staffer named Laura Carey.

Yovanovitch told Congress she had never responded to an email from Carey, instead directing it to the State Department.

“I alerted the State Department, because I’m still an employee, and so, matters are generally handled through the State Department. So, she emailed me. I alerted the State Department and, you know, asked them to handle the correspondence.”

“And, she emailed me again and said, you know, who should I be in touch with? I didn’t respond to that email, because I had already transferred everything to the State Department and I figured they would be in touch, and they were.”

However, it came out after the testimony that this was also a lie under oath. Instead of ignoring her, Marie Yovanovitch had continued emailing Laura Carey to set up a meeting or phone call.

To make this particular interaction even more suspicious, the lied-about email chain took place exactly 2 days after the whistleblower report was filed with the Intelligence Community Inspector General.
