President Donald Trump whipped out a news article in the middle of his rally in Louisiana he believed was important enough to show the entire crowd.

The President pointed to the Daily Wire article, which contained new quotes from a top Ukrainian official who said there was never any threat to establish a political quid-pro-quo.

While waving the article, Trump told the crowd:

“Their sinister plans will fail. They’ve already failed as far as I’m concerned.”

“So as I’m getting out of that beautiful airplane, Air Force One, it is a beautiful plane. (cheers) This just came out. Big story. “New Remarks from Ukrainian official damages Democrat’s impeachment narrative. Just came out.”

Trump then held the article up for the audience to see and they cheered before saying:

“I only read it because they don’t like to report stories like this, you know that.”

He continued, “Becuase we are fighting the Democrats, but much more difficult to fight is the fake news, I’m telling you. And their partnership.”

The article Trump was reading, originally published by Reuters, quoted Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko who said on Thursday that the United States Ambassador Gordon Sondland did not link withholding military aid to an investigation into potential corruption by the Biden family

According to Reuters Prystaiko said,

“Ambassador Sondland did not tell us, and certainly did not tell me, about a connection between the assistance and the investigations. You should ask him.”

The Ukrainian foreign minister continued,

“I have never seen a direct relationship between investigations and security assistance. Yes, the investigations were mentioned, you know, in the conversation of the presidents. But there was no clear connection between these events.”

The statement made by Prystaiko directly contradicts a key piece of the Democrat impeachment narrative that claims President Trump established a quid-pro-quo with Ukraine using military aid to force them to investigate the Bidens.

Of course, Vadym Prystaiko is not the first major Ukrainian official to state this. In fact, PEN Media Inc reported on Wednesday that Ukraine President Zelensky’s First Aid Serhiy Shefir stated that Guiliani’s associates Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman also lied when they told Democrats they had discussed the withholding of aid from Ukraine.

According to Shefir, who was in the meeting, Parnas and Fruman only discussed a potential meeting between Giuliani and Zelensky. Despite that, Shefir said nobody took them seriously and did not consider them representatives of President Trump.

Ukrainian President Zelensky has also confirmed that he never felt pressured by President Trump to open any investigations.
