Attorneys Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing were on Lou Dobbs Wednesday night to discuss the Inspector General report on FISA abuses by the FBI and DOJ to be released. DiGenova called it the “greatest political scandal in history.”
Joe diGenova told Lou Dobbs that the report has been delayed because of Prosecutor John Durham’s Grand Jury.
“I would say explosive and I would say for people at the highest levels of the FBI and at the highest levels of the Justice Department, more important at the Justice Department, it’s going to be devastating. It’s going to ruin careers, it’s going to make people have bar problems… What’s clear now we know is that the senior levels of the Obama Justice Department were complicit in knowingly submitting materially false applications to the FISA Court for an illegitimate counterintelligence purpose. Not for a legitimate purpose but to spy on Americans for political purposes. And it really will end up being the beginning of the greatest political scandal in history. And it’s being held up partially because of John Durham’s new grand jury exists for one reason and one reason only – because people are going to be indicted.”
DiGenova says that the IG report has been delayed because indictments are being prepared against people to be named.
“The report is being held up partially because of John Durham’s new grand jury,” DiGenova said. “It exists for one reason and one reason only: because people are going to be indicted.”
DiGenova is a former U.S. Attorney. He believes that Inspector General Micahel Horowitz’s report could show that Obama holdovers at high levels of the FBI and Department of Justice conspired to spy on President Trump in 2016 in order to rig the election for Hillary Clinton.
There has been evidence that Obama’s FBI acted in a biased manner against the Trump campaign.
“[There’s going to be] the emergence of very strong evidence that the FBI knowingly and willfully misled the FISA Court,” investigative reporter John Solomon said in August 2019. “And the US intelligence agencies may have also been involved in what Bill Barr calls ‘political surveillance.’”
Solomon also reported that the Obama FBI knew in 2017 that 90% of Christopher Steel’s anti-Trump dossier was false and used it to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump officials while they were private citizens.
“It took until 2019 for the American public to get a definitive answer, when the Mueller report came out,” Solomon said. “In early 2017, the FBI had begun a significant effort to assess the credibility of the Steele dossier.”
“And here’s what they found: They interviewed one of its primary sources — a Russian living in the West — and they came to the assessment after the interview, which I believe was in January-February of 2017, that he was either intentionally misleading Steele or exaggerating in ways that caused Steele’s report to be grossly inaccurate,” Solomon said.
The FBI knew that Christopher Steele, a former British spy, planted stories in the media to push the claims made in the dossier to back it up.
