President Donald Trump was joined at his Louisiana rally last night by stars of the TV show Duck Dynasty Phil and Willie Robertson.
Willie Robertson went up early and helped rally the massive crowd of Trump supporters for the President’s appearance. The Duck Dynasty star told an excited audience:
“If you are a believer and a Christian, I can’t think of a better president we’ve had.”
Willie also took time to compliment Republican Gubernatorial candidate Eddie Rispone, who is set to have a runoff election with Democrat incumbent Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards on November 16. He also slipped another compliment for President Trump in as well:
“I believe in Eddie. He’s a job creator. He’s an outsider, and we know that has worked in Washington.”
But it was Phil Robertson who managed to steal the show when President Trump brought him on stage to speak. Phil said one short phrase that had the whole crowd going nuts.
“If you are pro-God and pro-American and pro-gun and pro-duck hunting. That’s all I want.”
President Trump held his rally in Louisiana on Wednesday to help rally Republicans to get out and vote in next week’s runoff election between Rispone and Edwards.
Louisiana actually had their first Gubernatorial election on October 12, however, none of the candidates got the majority of votes required to win. Louisiana has a “jungle election”, where multiple candidates from different parties compete at the same time for the nomination.
Since there was no immediate winner, the two frontrunners Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) and Eddie Rispone (R) are required to face off again in a one-on-one race.
President Donald Trump has been actively campaigning to boost Republican turnout around the country. In the last week alone, he has held full-scale rallies in Kentucky, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
