Host of The View Joy Behar blurted out recently that Democrats need to lie to get elected into office when referring to Beto O’Rourke’s recent declaration that he had dropped out of the Democrat presidential primary.
Behar said that Beto should have hidden his real policies and not admitted that he wanted to confiscate all assault rifles. The audience applauded. The incident happens at the 2:30 minute mark.
The back and forth started with Megan McCain said, “Beto, when my husband told me he got out of the race, I think he’s actually like a beta test for why going so national and being beloved by the media is always dangerous. … He raised $80 million, and President [Barack] Obama was drawing comparisons to him.”
“He did a lot of, like, battleground culture war, and he ran as the most left, most ‘woke’ candidate. And look where he ended up.”
Behar butted in.
“They should not tell everything they’re going to do,” Behar said. “If you are going to take people’s guns away, wait until you get elected and then take them away. Don’t tell them ahead of time.”
Behar is not 100% wrong. Politics is rife with false statements such as Bill Clintons “I did not have sex with that woman” or Obama’s “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” statement.
Behar is encourage more than that. She is talking about conspiring to infringe on the second amendment and mislead voters about a candidate’s real intentions.
The audience applauded Behar’s statements and seem okay with the advice that Democrats should lie to their voters.
Behar got backlash last week for referring to Trump supporters as stupid and saying that Trump rallies were filled with paid actors.
On Friday’s episode of The View, the host said that a recent Trump 2020 campaign ad was full of paid actors “just like the ones who go to his rallies.”
